CLASSIFICATIONS
ADDITIONAL SAFETY FEATURES
Safety footwear standard EN345 is being superseded by EN ISO 20345. Any
footwear that has been tested to EN345 can continue to be sold, however any
new designs will have to be tested to the new standard.
Which standard your footwear is tested to is identi ed on the product
information label, this is found within the boot or shoe. Highest protection,
toe-caps are tested to 200 Joules.

Safety basic 200 Joule protection.
S1
200 Joule toe-cap protection. Closed seat region (fully enclosed heel).
Antistatic properties. Energy absorption of seat region.
S3
200 Joule toe-cap protection. Closed seat region (fully enclosed
heel). Antistatic properties. Energy absorption of seat region. Water
penetration and water absorption resistance. Plus penetration
resistance. Cleated outsole.
Should these products offer some extra protective features then the
appropriate symbol will be added. i.e. A product that provides 200 Joule
impact protection, is antistatic and has a heat resistant outsole will be
marked SB A HRO.

Safety Footwear
A range of footwear with toe-cap protection only. All toe-caps
are tested to 200 Joules impact and 15KN compression.
Safety Footwear with Midsole
A range of footwear with toe-cap protection and the additional
feature of a protective midsole to safeguard the wearer against
hazards underfoot. All Super Safety Footwear conforms to the
current regulations governing this range of essential products.
Anti-static Footwear
Eliminates or reduces static charges by dissipating charge into
the oor.
Thinsulate Lining
A lightweight thermal insulation used for footwear

Waterproof
Fabric / material that are impervious to water.
